In early April, the COSCO FOS cargo ship, carrying 148.5 tons of polyethylene products of Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (SQPC), departed from Xiamen Port for Thailand, marking the successful completion of the company's first polyolefin product export order in 2022.
In line with the Belt and Road Initiative or BRI proposed by the Chinese government, SQPC actively explored the international market while consolidating its domestic sales channels. The success didn’t come easy. The company overcame many difficulties such as a tight schedule and delayed shipping, took good care of all links from product delivery, warehousing, packing, to documentation, gave full play to the its advantages in production, marketing, trade and transportation.
This polyolefin export order includes more than 2,600 tons of products in four grades, with export destinations being seven important BRI-participating countries such as Thailand, the UAE, the Philippines and Nigeria. The successful opening of this export channel will lay a good foundation for the promotion of the company’s high-end resin products.
