Up to now, the number of tires assembled by Pirelli for plug-in and hybrid electric vehicles has doubled year on year.
Since the launch of Pirelli's ELECT™ tires in 2019, which are made for driving electric vehicles, an increasing number of car manufacturers have equipped their electric models with Pirelli ELECT™ tires. So far, Pirelli has a total of 250 original tire certifications for new energy vehicles, indicating automobile manufacturers’ recognising the suitability of ELECT™ tires for electric vehicles. As Pirelli’s leading product, tires featuring ELECT™ technology provide lower rolling resistance, which helps electric vehicles perform with longer battery life and lower noise. Moreover, the special material and pattern of the tread improve traction of tires for new energy vehicles. Pirelli’s ELECT™ series products have been certified by a number of internationally renowned automobile manufacturers, including Porsche, Audi, BMW in Europe, Lucid Air in the United States, and NIO and Lynk in China.
