Lately, at the York County Regional Chamber’s Annual Awards Celebration held in South Carolina, USA, Elkem York Factory stood out from the fierce competition of more than 170 manufacturing companies and won the “York County Manufacturer of the Year Award”. This award aims to recognize outstanding local manufacturing companies that adhere to the highest standards, continue to develop and innovate, and seize market opportunities to achieve rapid growth.
Elkem opened the main manufacturing facility in York, SC in 2012 and has continued to expand its operational footprint at this site with significant investment in people and manufacturing capabilities working closely with both the Regional Chamber of Commerce and York Economic Development teams. In 2022, Elkem opened the second site Elkem Silicones Advanced Specialties (ESAS) near the main York site, which is dedicated to producing high-purity silicones that meet the requirements of the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries.
