Acetone, also known as dimethyl ketone, is a colorless, odorous and flammable liquid. It is widely used as solvent and extractant. It is also an important raw material for manufacture of epoxy resin, isoprene rubber, polymethyl methacrylate and synthetic drug.

It is volatile, flammable, slightly toxic and soluble in water. It tends to addition, condensation and halogenation reactions due to active chemical properties.
Application instructions
It is an important raw material of organic chemical industry, mainly used in manufacture of methyl methacrylate (MMA), bisphenol A, isopropylamine and methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK). Acetone is also a good solvent, and is used in industries such as medicine, paint, and plastics.
