White crystal or powder; relative density: 1.50; strong hygroscopy; soluble in water and low-concentration organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, propanol and carbonic ester; it will be decomposed very quickly and release PF5 to generate white smoke due to the effect of vapor once exposed in air or heated.

It can be used as the lithium battery electrolyte material and plays a critical role in the component of electrolyte. Compared with other electrolyte lithiums, it is featured by high conductivity, excellent electrochemical stability, good compatibility with graphite cathode, effective passivation of aluminum foil and relatively low costs.
